Things to do in and around Kidwelly

Just to get you started on planning your trip, here are some great ideas for places to visit:
Pembrey Country Park (4m) is a beautiful place with activities for visitors of all ages. From the 130 meter dry ski slope, the longest toboggan run in Wales, a steam train, pitch and putt golf, adventure playground, miles of cycle and horse riding track, picnic areas and a breath taking seven miles of safe sandy, blue flag beach. Our children absolutely love Pembrey and we can easily loose whole days to adventures there.

Other beaches within easy distance are the glorious Gower beaches to the East and Tenby, Saundersfoot and the Pembrokeshire coast to the West.

The National Wetlands Centre run by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (14m) is home to over 650 of the world’s most spectacular ducks, geese, swans and flamingos.
The castles of Kidwelly (1.6m), Carreg Cennen (18m), Laugharne (6.1m) (home to Dylan Thomas) and Dinefwr (15m) are ready for you to explore to your hearts content.

There are beautiful gardens at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (12m) and Aberglasney House and gardens (19m).

The old market town of Carmarthen (8m) is full of character with plenty of shops, restaurants and entertainment.

Parcgwyn is a great base to explore some brilliant places that West Wales has to offer to entertain all of the family, like Folly Farm (18m), Mannor Wildlife Park (20m) and the theme park Oakwood (21m), in Pembrokeshire.
